SoCal Housing Market Sees New Momentum

Southern California’s housing market is showing renewed activity after two years of stagnation, prompting one of the region’s biggest independent brokerages to add staff.

Rodeo Realty expands with 23 new agents

In July, Rodeo Realty announced the hiring of 23 real‑estate agents across the San Fernando Valley, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Sherman Oaks, Encino, Northridge and other nearby communities. The recruitment effort aims to broaden the firm’s reach as buyer competition intensifies in those neighborhoods.

The timing aligns with a reported 10 percent rise in home‑sales volume year over year, according to the California Association of Realtors. While overall inventory in the state has tightened, the limited supply has led to more offers per listing and quicker decision‑making, especially for properties above $2 million.

Market conditions drive the hiring surge

“When inventory is this tight, the agent matters more, not less,” said Gerald Lombardo, vice president of marketing at the brokerage. He added that skilled agents seek firms that provide marketing support, noting that “great agents are always looking for ways to better serve their clients.”

Founded by Syd Leibovitch, Rodeo Realty positions itself as a leading residential real‑estate firm in Southern California. The company offers its agents in‑house advertising, professional photography, video services, transaction management, ongoing education and a recruiting program.

Leibovitch views the July hires as part of a broader industry reshuffle. Agents who weathered the slow years by handling their own advertising and technology costs are now reassessing their affiliations as deal flow improves.

“When the market changes, agents evaluate whether they have the support they need to compete,” Lombardo said. “We’re seeing more Realtors looking for a brokerage that invests in their success.”

Rodeo Realty has leveraged its Instagram presence to showcase listings and agent work, reaching buyers beyond the traditional MLS audience. For many agents, that platform is a decisive factor when considering a move.

The market is heating up.

Local expertise has become increasingly valuable as inventory, financing options and pricing differ sharply from one ZIP code to the next. A strategy that works in Sherman Oaks may not translate to Brentwood, making neighborhood‑specific knowledge essential.

“Our focus has always been on helping agents build long‑term careers,” Lombardo added. “When our agents succeed, our clients benefit, and that’s ultimately what drives our company forward.”

With offices spread across Los Angeles and Ventura counties, the brokerage continues to grow its footprint while emphasizing personalized service and local market insight.

From a broader perspective, the influx of new agents suggests that the regional real‑estate sector is gearing up for sustained activity. As buyers return to the market, firms that can quickly scale their talent pool may capture a larger share of transactions, especially in the luxury segment where competition is fiercest.

Rodeo Realty’s expansion reflects both the firm’s confidence in the market rebound and its strategy to offer agents the tools needed to thrive. The company’s continued emphasis on advertising infrastructure and education positions it to meet the heightened expectations of buyers and sellers alike.
