The Sikkim government released the results of its Ganesh Chaturthi bumper lottery on September 19, 2026, with the grand prize of ₹3 crore awarded to ticket number A 8010212. Organized by the Directorate of Sikkim State Lotteries, the draw took place at 6 p.m. in Gangtok. Each ticket cost ₹500, and at least 6 lakh tickets were sold across the state. The lottery was specifically introduced to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, drawing significant cultural and religious significance in the state.
Two tickets secured second place, A 981936 and B 900028, though both remained unsold and were returned to the government. The second prize of ₹10 lakh was awarded to each of these tickets, with the government retaining ownership of the unsold prizes. Third-place winners, ticket numbers A 875696 and A 928252, each received ₹5 lakh. The remaining prizes included ₹9,000 for up to 600 fourth-place tickets, ₹5,000 for another 600 fifth-place tickets, and ₹3,000 for sixth-place winners. The largest single prize category was the seventh place, with ₹1,000 awarded to 30,000 winning tickets. The prize structure was designed to ensure broad participation, with smaller wins distributed widely across the state.
Lottery agents received commissions based on prize tiers. Those who sold the winning ticket for the ₹3 crore prize earned ₹25 lakh, while agents for second and third prizes received ₹1 lakh and ₹50,000, respectively. Agents handling lower-tier prizes did not receive additional payments. This commission structure incentivized agents to promote higher-value tickets while still encouraging participation in smaller prizes. The agent commissions also ensured that the lottery remained financially sustainable for the state.
Winners claiming prizes of ₹10,000 or less can collect their winnings directly at authorized lottery retailers by signing the back of their ticket. For larger prizes, claimants must visit the Principal Director, State Lotteries or an authorized representative within 30 days of the draw. Required documents include the original, signed ticket, a completed claim form, a self-attested PAN card, an affidavit, three attested passport photos, a canceled cheque for bank transfer, and valid identification and address proof. It is advisable to claim your prizes within a strict window of 30 (Thirty) Days from the date of the draw.
